John Duffy McAnallen, III
Founder & Principal
Duffy has spent his entire career in emergency service. After attending college in Baltimore, Maryland, he joined the Naval Surface Weapons Center as a firefighter and EMT, then went on to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department where he quickly advanced to lieutenant.
In the early nineties, Duffy and his family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he served as a flight paramedic, providing advanced life support, treatment and stabilization to the critically ill and injured.
He later joined the Sunoco Oil Refinery, where he supervised preparedness and safety operations and served as the incident commander for emergency response operations, including fire suppression, emergency medical response, and hazmat incidents.
After leaving Sunoco, Duffy spent the next fourteen years of his career at Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA), Oklahoma's largest provider of pre-hospital emergency medical care, as director of clinical affairs and later as director of operations.
He also served as the tactical EMS commander for the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office SWAT team, where he provided protection services for high-profile and high-risk individuals and developed operational plans for high-risk significant events.
Currently, Duffy is the director of clinical affairs for Oklahoma's Medical Control Board, providing leadership and medical oversight for the EMS system and the 1,500 EMS professionals operating under the direction of the Medical Control Board. He also serves as a reserve deputy for the Osage County Sheriff's Office, leading high-risk warrant planning and scouting and sniper and tactical training.
Duffy founded McAnallen Protection Consultants as a way to leverage his experience to help individuals and businesses plan for and respond to emergencies of all kinds. Over the 40+ years of his career, he has responded to unimaginable catastrophic events. Now he wants to help others prepare for and, ideally, prevent the unthinkable.
