Facility Safety & Security Review

OBJECTIVE

For this project, we were brought on to review two public safety facilities in two different cities. Each of the facilities house offices and operations for over 400 personnel and 100 emergency vehicles. Our goal was to take preemptive measures to identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities and make recommendations for improvement.

STRATEGY

We conducted surveys of the buildings, grounds, and security protocols. In addition, we reviewed the facility’s emergency plans and procedures to ensure that they are up-to-date and consider new threats, natural or man-made.

OUTCOME

After our survey and assessment, we provided a comprehensive report with recommendations for improvement. We also served as a resource to our client as they implemented the recommendations.

MARKSMANSHIP TRAINING

OBJECTIVE

Marksmanship is a fundamental skill for security and law enforcement agents to hone. Skilled precision shooting is vital in the presence of high-value targets. Having worked with several clients wishing to increase personal pistol marksmanship, our team jumped at the opportunity to work with this law enforcement agent to raise his marksmanship scores.

Strategy

Before informing the shooter on opportunities of improvement, it was necessary to first observe his existing shooting technique. Examination revealed errors in technical skills that we were able to work together on to improve. Focusing on the basics of precision shooting, we worked on techniques such as the steady position, breath control and trigger squeeze to improve his overall approach.

Outcome

Prior to examination and instruction, this shooter was close to failing his law enforcement exam. Having taken the shooting test multiple times, the client was only left with one opportunity to take and pass the test, otherwise, he would not be allowed another chance. Carefully listening to instruction and incorporating it into his shooting, the client’s shooting score drastically improved throughout the marksmanship course and allowed him to pass the shooting portion of the law enforcement exam with a perfect score.

A PLACE OF WORSHIP

OBJECTIVE

In this day and age, it is important to maintain high vigilance at our places of worship as well as any mass gatherings.

McAnallen Protection Consultants currently provides security and emergency medical response at a large church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. For over two years now, our team has been and continues to be contracted to provide coverage for three services per week.

STRATEGY

Because our client did not want our officer to stand out, we chose to embed one plain-clothed officer in the congregation. The officer moves about during the services, between classes, and in children’s areas.

We send the same officer to every service, because it’s important to know who are regular attendees at the church. Just because someone is a guest or an infrequent visitor doesn’t mean they are a threat. We are trained to notice even the slightest differences in normal activity and take measures to avert an incident.

OUTCOME

After two years of service, nearly all 500 members of the congregation recognize the officer. Our client and their congregation is happy with this strategy and execution. Visitors or walk-in guests have no idea security is present, and regular members have the peace of mind of being in good hands.

Residential patrol

OBJECTIVE

We have clients who live in urban, suburban, and rural settings, and we’re often called upon to patrol their properties while they are on vacation. Each setting provides a different set of security challenges. Our goal was to ensure their property stayed safe and intact.

Many homeowners call their local police department and request a watch order when they are out of town. While our local law enforcement is there to serve and protect, many times they are not staffed to take on these preventative patrols.

STRATEGY

We monitored gates, entryways, and vehicles on our clients’ properties to make sure there was no unwanted entry or activity. This is done anywhere from twice per week to twice per day, based on our clients’ preferences.

For our rural client, we inventoried all farm equipment and inspected it for damage or pilfering. Additionally, we monitored for vehicle tracks and foot tracks to make sure no activity was occurring on the property.

Not all damage is done by people. Many times when people leave town on vacation, especially if they live in Oklahoma, severe weather can wreak havoc on their property. It’s nice to have someone monitoring the property regularly so that they can address any issues that arise.

OUTCOME

We find that the best outcome of this service is that our clients enjoy their vacations. They are able to leave town with peace of mind, knowing that McAnallen Protection Consultants is holding down the fort.

SPECIAL EVENT & VIP PROTECTION

OBJECTIVE

Our team was tasked to provide venue and VIP security for a very well-publicized event in a large venue. The event hosted several nationally-known celebrities, with a large fan following and known stalkers.

Our goal was to protect the celebrities from known stalkers or overly eager fans and ensure that the event was free from disruption.

STRATEGY

The event was hosted in an auditorium with multiple levels of seating and a large backstage area with hallways and dressing rooms. Prior to the event, we ensured that those areas were secure and that proper procedures were in place to check attendees at the main entrances.

All entrances were covered by at least one security operative who was prepared with descriptions and photographs of any known stalkers and high-risk individuals.

The individual celebrities had at least two close-protection officers accompanying them. At least one of the officers assigned to the principal was the same gender, so that at no time was the principal ever alone.

During autographs and meet and greets with the celebrities, no less than three security officers were beside the principals.

OUTCOME

It was evident to those attending that the celebrities were well protected. There were no incidents before, during, or after the event.
